Justin Stanley, Director, founded JMS Artist Management in 2011 when he began working with the Boston Trio. He is passionate about presenting incredible musicians who care deeply about their engagement with audiences. His artists have been presented all over the United States and internationally. In addition to his artist roster, he consults and collaborates frequently with musicians on their projects. In 2013, he created the JMS Artist Management internship, an opportunity for young musicians to deeply explore the business side of music.
As a hornist, Justin is a dedicated chamber musician who performs regularly with ensembles in New England, including "Some Assembly Required". Recent performances include the Fiddlehead Theatre, the Lexington Symphony, the Plymouth Philharmonic, Salisbury Singers, the Lyric Stage Theatre, the New Rep Theatre, the Boston Opera Collaborative, the Cambridge Philharmonic, the Boston Philharmonic outreach orchestra, and the Wenham Street Brass. He performed two Glass Symphonies inspired by David Bowie under conductor Evan Zipoyrn with the Ambient Orchestra in January 2016, an event celebrating Bowie's life. Outside of Boston, Justin has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, the Park Avenue Chamber Symphony, and numerous musical productions. Stanley received a Bachelor’s in Music Performance from New York University and a Master’s in Horn Performance with a Music-in-Education concentration from New England Conservatory in 2010.
Outside of his musical career, Mr. Stanley volunteered as assistant producer in Playing for the Planet - a local advocacy concert series in which all proceeds are donated to 350.org, fosters shelter dogs, and home-brews beer! Mr. Stanley resides in Roslindale, MA with his partner.
